寂静岭

I find the settings of this movie unconvincing. According to the film, Silent Hill is a burnt town with two distinct images. The first image shows the town where the main actress and policewoman are trapped, featuring transformations between peaceful daylight and evil nights. The second image shows the town where the father and the policeman are searching. In reality, these two dimensions extend into the entire world, as the mother enters a different-colored house in the same location as the father.

I believe that daytime in Silent Hill should be peaceful. However, the woman still sees the little girl, and some people are trying to kill her, making the comparison between day and night ineffective. The nighttime scenes are also not scary at all, and rather boring. The character of the policewoman is confusing; she is portrayed as a responsible officer who is completely willing to risk her life. The essence behind the devil in the film is the killing of witches and the stupidity of people, which I find really lame. There is no explanation for the triangle-headed creature, and it's unclear why some people are still living in Silent Hill.
