The one who plays Mr. Collins is pretty good in this mini-series. Tall and heavy -looking , he is perhaps not only the closest in appearance to the description in Jane Austen's original novel but also able to stay true to the character in other aspects. Being too haughty and cold (and sometimes looking cruel) , Mr. Darcy is quite a disappointment . One could not help but wonder whether this Mr. Darcy is capable of any warm feeling, let alone ardent love for the heroine. Besides Mr. Darcy , Elizabeth fails to shine in this version too. There is nothing in her that is not ordinary and there is simply no chemistry between the two leading characters. Except Mr. Collins , the other minor characters fail to give one any deep impression Watching this slow and tedious version is quite a test of my patience .
