The voice-over in the movie gives a journal-like account of the trip from Brooklyn back to home, Lithuania. It’s intimate, thought-provocative, and emotional in narrative, which derives the depth of the movie. The voice-over has a peculiar texture in a sense that it’s more like ramblings of a drunkard, with conscious and unconscious talks about the past, the people, the home that are distant. Traditional Lithuanian folk songs and classical music of Bach intermittently plays in between: one enlightens the image of cheerful, positive, and lively local people; the other is embedded in the tragic sufferings of post-war trauma.

The presentation of the montage resembles flashes of memories passing by, marked by numbers like episodes, giving a touch of originality of auteur. From the picturesque scenery of grand farm to humanized family reunion, the camera attempted to catch as much as possible, to document every detail as much as possible; however, like the reality, there’s always something about to miss... as long as the last moment has gone.

Living in the crevice between Nazi German and Soviet Union, the destruction from military power and violence forced the new generation to flee their country, ‘Run, children, run.’ Going to the west seemed like a wise option at that time. But no matter as emigrants in Brooklyn, or as lost children seeking to return home, they are always a group of displaced people. Their mentality was kept and stuck in 'elsewhere'.
