路易斯·布尔乔亚：蜘蛛、情妇与橘子

看完本片，最大的感受是，爱Bourgeois甚于她的作品。特别是开篇她的自述，她对于女性身份的解读:

How are you going to be likable, and be yourself? This desire to be likable. But it is difficult to be a woman and to be likable. It is really a pain in the neck. I’m full of doubts.

从女儿，家庭主妇，母亲，艺术家（或者还要被冠名为女性艺术家），这个自我认知的过程是很痛苦并且艰难的。但是她做到了，在长达80年的职业生涯中，她一直保持着对于生命的热情和探索，尝试用不同的媒介让曾经痛苦的回忆转变成全新的生命，正如她自己所说的:

You have to differentiate between memories. Are you going to them or are they coming to you? If you are going to them, you are wasting time. Nostalgia is not productive. If they come to you, they are seed for sculpture.

童年的创伤和回忆，无疑是Bourgeois作品的中心，一个她情感输出的源头。通过纪录片的标题The Spider, the Mistress and the Tangerine，大致能看到这些情绪的来源。

The spider, Maman 1999, 代表了她的母亲。蜘蛛既是捕食者又是保护者，是作为她母亲的家庭写照。蜘蛛织网编织巢穴， 对应了日常生活中Bourgeois的母亲—一位经营着家族挂毯生意的编织者。她让Bourgeois感受到了家庭中仅有的温暖和保护。但这份积极的情感并没有持续很久。由于她母亲常年患病，在Bourgeois 22岁那年就去世了。Bourgeois曾说过, 蜘蛛是她最成功的主题，她花了长达60多年的时间尝试和突破这个主题，从1935年左右开始以绘画的形式来创作，到90年代又以雕塑的形式产出。

The Mistress and the Tangerine, 代表了她的父亲。充满了恐惧，焦虑，害怕，痛苦和怨恨，但同时也充满了爱。她曾尝试和父亲沟通，来缓解内心的怨恨，但得到的只是他无效的回应。以致她在父亲死后，陷入了长期的抑郁。本片最让人揪心的一段个人认为是Bourgeois叙述Tangerine的故事的由来，她的父亲是如何在家庭聚会上用橘子刻出一个带着男性生殖器的小人，并诙谐地讽刺Bourgeois作为一个女性与男性的生理差异。

通过对她父母的了解，能看到她内心正面的或是负面的情感是处于一种失衡的状态，时喜时怒，飘忽不定。像他助理说的，第一次见她时like a difficult bitch。但是，她试图通过艺术创作来平衡这些分化的情绪：

Emotions for me are very bothersome, because they are completely inappropriate. My emotion are my demons. It is not the emotions themselves, it is the intensity of the emotions are too much for me to handle. And that is why I transfer them, I transfer them.

最后，as she said

Let’s have a little champagne. We don’t deserve it, but we can still have it.
