If I suggest this actually is a heartwarming and uplifting piece, I risk getting called a liar or a twat, for it doesn’t let that much on until the very end. It seems all about a pathetic suicidal sarcastic hateful fat white man who wallows in the loss of his wife. His life isn’t typical of most of ours. He sticks to one town, one job and to one person. So he is probably not the most identifiable type, perhaps except his I-don’t-care-shit-about-anything attitude which we may sometimes secretively harbour.
But it really IS what I just said and much more, that I can guarantee you, if you are the sticking type as he and I are. And it delivers a hopeful and resounding message while doing the warming-heart and lifting-up. Each one has their own shit to deal with. It’ll do us a world of good if we open our eyes to that fact, for that realization will help us to put our shit in perspective. Instead of wallowing in it and hoping to off ourselves, we can retrieve our power, use it on others and hence turn life on its head.
What I really enjoy in the end is the funny theory that good people should remain true to themselves and stick around as long as they can, so that arseholes can be outnumbered.
Stay true to your goodness and try to render your corner of the world a better place. Kindness is like a boomerang and happiness infects.
