I can see the effort put in by the film’s creative team, but I feel the movie didn’t showcase their talent.

Sci-fi films often aim to provide something deeper beyond satisfying visual imagination. Unfortunately, this movie didn’t do well in that regard. It didn’t make you feel like part of a grand theme, like 2001: A Space Odyssey, nor did it offer the immersive physical and emotional experience of Interstellar.

The emotional connection between humans and AI robots wasn’t convincing or deeply moving. The audience could always sense that they were being told a story, and nothing more.

Additionally, there’s a minor issue: the depiction of America in the film is clear and specific, whereas Asia is portrayed as a vague, fictionalized concept, ignoring the reality of Asia as a real place.
